Educate children, build their future

Deficiency in education is one of the most
important problems affecting children from
very poor backgrounds. ERDS owns and runs
four primary schools that cater to about 1200
children in the 3-10 years age group.

Enabling Earning

Suitable livelihood opportunities are hard to come by in the rural
interiors of West Bengal. ERDS has successfully run over 1,000
vocational training courses wherein trainees have gone on and opened
tailoring units, barber and beautician parlors, mobile phone repairing
outlets and bicycle repairing shops.

CLEAN WATER & ACCESS TO TOILETS

Absence of clean water and lack of toilets (leading to open defecation)
are two of the most important problems affecting the extremely poor
segments of the rural population. ERDS has constructed 33,500 toilets
and five tube-wells till date in West Bengal.
