Anti-trafficking

According to the United Nations “Human trafficking is the acquisition of people by improper means such as force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them”. India and particularly West Bengal is affected by such social evils which is acting as a barrier to India’s growth and development. In order to address such a vital issue we launched a campaign against child trafficking at every project centre. Trafficking is very acute in Gajole, Thinagore because of its close proximity to an international border. We developed a strategy to address such imperative issues by organizing awareness camps among the Self Help Groups & Youth Groups. In not meeting the “Honey trap” laid by traffickers issues are discussed in detail to make sure destitute people do not become their prey. Due to paucity of funds we are unable to organize drama or distribute pamphlets that make the programme effective and lively. We are also searching for a partner to deliver the anti-trafficking programme.
