With aid from India Development & Relief Fund ( IDRF ) we constructed a School for underprivileged kids in Gajole Block, Malda District, West Bengal, India. The School was built in the memory of Late Kesarben and principally funded by her son Mr. Narendra N. Popot. Malda is one of the most backward districts in West Bengal dominated by tribals, scheduled castes and other backward classes. In this area 85% people belong to schedule caste/schedule tribe community while only 15% belong to general caste. It is a well known fact that poverty is more evident and intense in scheduled caste / scheduled tribe community and to get rid of such severe poverty “Education” is one of the finest tools to break the “Vicious Circle of Poverty”. With the opening of this School 182 kids across 22 villages were enrolled, as this school has the best infrastructure supported by qualified staff in the region. The enthusiasm among guardians to get their wards enrolled in Kesarben Memorial School was notable.

Jhilmil School at Thinagar
In this small village (Thinagore) known for its fine mango orchards some 40 kilometers from Malda Town, a quiet revolution is taking place. The journey started in the year 1997-1998 as at that time there was no school in the vicinity and kids need to cover a distance to reach school which became an impediment to education. With the backing of young and dedicated teachers with a fresh vision of education the School commenced with only 6 children. At present the number of kids reading from Classes Nursery to Class - IV in the school is 140.
Jhilmil School at Boral
The Jhilmil School at Boral commenced on 16th April, 1994 with only 6 students, undergone a long untiring evolutionary journey spanning over 20 years leaving an ineradicable mark in the vast field of learning. Since the last two decades, the school has anticipated to strengthen the roots of our ever-progressing young generation belonging from the underprivileged section of the society. With the passage of time and continuously providing preeminent education a huge number of students were attracted. Presently there are 594 students. The School is running in full capacity and we are also experiencing shortage of space as the number of students waiting to be admitted is growing significantly. This year with the support of Tree House we were able to set up a Computer Lab consisting of three computers. A dedicated & professional Computer Faculty member was also provided.
